Our
Story
Caring Families CIC started from personal experience. I’m Ed, a dad to a child with a rare life-limiting condition, Myotubular Myopathy. For 10 years, I’ve managed his Personal Health Budget (PHB), while juggling life as a full-time carer and employer. Along the way, I’ve learned how tough and isolating the system can feel.

I began helping other families, sharing what I’d learned and how we made things work. The message was clear: parents needed support from someone who gets it. That’s why I set up Caring Families CIC, to offer early, practical PHB support rooted in real life, not theory.

We help parents take control of care without being overwhelmed. Whether it’s understanding PHBs, employing carers, or building confidence, we’re here so no parent has to face it alone.
Our
Vision
Caring for a child with complex needs is demanding. Getting a PHB shouldn’t make life harder. Our vision is to give families early support to turn PHBs into a tool for better care, not another burden.

We believe parents’ stories should shape how PHBs are delivered. Real-life insight shows what works and what needs to change. That’s why we push for better conversations between families and ICBs, so the system reflects lived reality.

Caring Families CIC brings together experience, guidance and peer support to build confidence and clarity. Our goal is a more parent-led approach, where care is shaped by those who live it every day.
